Somos una mezcla. How we identify, where we feel at home, and what we know of our own histories, is complicated. At Mijente, we don’t show out like we have all the answers or the correct terms on all things latinx. But, we believe and stand for inclusion. For too long, parts of our community have been ignored or exiled, and that has weakened us. If the diversity and differences of our communities are respected, we are stronger together. Somos de aquí y Somos de allá.
That’s why our cause isn’t just pro-Latinx, it’s pro-Black, pro-indigenous, pro-worker, pro-mujer, pro-immigrant, and pro-pachamama, and why we prioritize building social movements across place, peoples and issues.
This is more than a political battle. Porque somos más que un voto or the fastest growing target market. We owe it to ourselves and to those who will follow to do the work towards wholeness, wellness, and healing. We need to get louder on all fronts – from government hearings, to corporate meetings, to social media, to every corner in the country.

We build power by organizing our impact around campaigns that amplify our collective voice. The voice that represents over 60 million Latinx (and growing). Building power for a campaign or an issue requires that our targets feel public pressure and see interest in our fight. Persistencia amplifies our resistencia.

On January 20th, the Biden Administration announced an audit of the agencies responsible for managing immigration. As they conduct their internal review, the people will have our own process.
